Information For Musicians
Do you have recorded tracks of your original music? Why not put them to work for you? Isn't it about time you earned some cash for all your creativity?
Whether your tracks were recorded today or 40 years ago, they could be making you money if put to use as film or TV production music.
At Sounds of Canada we support Canadian music production. If you're a Canadian musician with decent recordings of your original material, we invite you to submit your tracks to Sounds of Canada. If after reviewing your music we think it could be earning you money, your submission will be eligible for inclusion in the Sounds of Canada Music Catalogue.
Submitting Your Music
To submit your tracks you need to register as a Composer. Once you're registered, login to Sounds of Canada and follow the instructions to fill in the form and upload your music. You can submit as many tracks as you like but please be patient while we review your tracks along with everyone else's.

A Sounds of Canada reviewer will listen to your track and let you know if your submission was accepted for inclusion in our catalogue.
Selling Your Music
While your track is listed in the Sounds of Canada Music Catalogue it forms part of a production music library from which music users may purchase tracks to be used in their film, TV or advertising productions. Sounds of Canada markets your tracks to these music users on your behalf.
When a music user purchases a license for your music Sounds of Canada collects a licensing fee. As well, Sounds of Canada collects any performance royalties that have resulted from the use of your music in film, TV or other broadcasts.
Then we send you a cheque for the license fees and performance royalties you've earned.
